Dalam lima tahun terakhir, inflasi di Jawa Timur selalu berfluktuasi meskipun masih tergolong dalam kategori rendah, masih di bawah 10% (single digit). Inflasi Jawa Timur pada tahun 2014 lebih tinggi daripada tahun 2013. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kenaikan harga yang ditunjukkan oleh kenaikan indeks pada kelompok bahan makanan.
