Kapal tenggelam di Tanjung Pinang, Riau, 10 tewas, dua luka, dan lima hilang

Sebuah kapal kayu angkutan penumpang atau pompong yang membawa 17 orang pengemudi dan penumpang tujuan Tanjung Pinang ke Pulau Penyengat tenggelam pada Minggu (21/8/2016) pukul 09.30 WIB. Tim SAR menemukan 10 korban tewas dan dua luka-luka namun dalam kondisi kritis.

Berdasarkan keterangan dari Badan Nasional Penanggulangan Bencana, penumpang kapal terdiri dari satu pengemudi, dua anak-anak dan 14 orang dewasa.

"Kapal tenggelam akibat angin kencang dan gelombang besar di perairan Kelurahan Penyengat, Kecamatan Tanjung Pinang Kota, Kota Tanjung Pinang, Provinsi Kepulauan Riau. Kapal tersebut membawa wisatawan yang hendak ke Penyengat," kata Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, juru bicara BNPB.

Tim SAR gabungan telah berhasil menemukan 12 orang penumpang, 10 orang meninggal dunia. Lima penumpang masih hilang dan dalam pencarian.

"Saat kapal terbalik dan tenggelam penumpang berusaha berenang dan diselamatkan pompong yang berada di sekitarnya. Sebagian penumpang tidak dapat berenang dan tenggelam terseret gelombang," kata Sutopo.

Tim SAR gabungan yang dipimpin Basarnas saat ini masih melakukan pencarian korban.

Lebih dari 200 personil Tim SAR gabungan terdiri dari Basarnas, BPBD, Marinir TNI AL, Polisi Air, Tagana, Satpol PP, SKPD, masyarakat dan relawan masih melakukan pencarian. Sekitar 20 kapal dan 50 pompong dikerahkan mencari korban hilang.

Pasukan Marinir melakukan penyelaman mencari korban tenggelam namun, menurut BNPB, mereka menghadapi kendala utama yaitu arus yang cukup kencang.

Juru bicara Angkatan Laut Edi Sucipto seperti dikutip AFP mengatakan bahwa kapal kecil tersebut berangkat dari Tanjung Pinang di Riau dan menghadapi cuaca buruk.

"Dua belas orang sudah ditemukan tapi 10 sudah meninggal dunia," katanya. Dia juga menambahkan bahwa dua yang selamat kini berada dalam kondisi kritis.

Kapal cepat TNI-AL masih mencari lima orang yang masih hilang, ujar Sucipto lagi.

A joint SAR team led Basarnas is currently conducting the search for survivors.

More than 200 personnel of joint SAR team consists of Basarnas, BPBDs, Army Navy Marines Water police, Tagana, municipal police, on education, community and volunteers are still searching. About 20 ships and 50 pompong deployed search for missing victims.

Marine Forces dives searching for a drowning victim, but, according to BNPB, they face major constraints which the current is quite strong.

Navy spokesman Edi Sucipto was quoted as saying by AFP said that the small ship departed from Tanjung Pinang in Riau and face the bad weather.

"twelve people were found but 10 have died," he said. He also added that the two survivors is now in critical condition.

Fast boats Navy still searching for five people still missing, said Sucipto again.
