Piaget theory explains two things namely cognitive development and the nature of knowledge. 1). in terms of cognitive development.learners in this study is the students who studied class 1 x sma country Bangkala Jeneponto tailored to the level of cognitive development. age learners already reached the stage of formal operations is the estimated age of 16 years and above. as Piaget disclosed that at the stage of formal operations estimated age of 11 years to mature.children in formal operation was able to use logical operations to tasks or problems that are verbal, complicated and complex. this can be seen from the students who worked on the task at LKPD that most could do it. 2). in terms of the nature of knowledge. Piaget based view of the nature of knowledge ie knowledge is not passively received,but actively constructed by the individual. this can be seen from the researchers who do not directly provide material directly to students, but researchers help learners to actively construct knowledge. active learners become a very important element in determining the success of learning.this can be seen from the active learners in the lab, working on LKPD and discussion. according to Piaget inclusion of new information in a knowledge or cognitive structure through two mechanisms, namely assimilation and accommodation. on assimilation,new information a person facing directly absorbed into the cognitive structure because it contains similarities with existing cognitive structures. while the learners accommodation must modify their cognitive structures so that they can receive new information that it faces. meaning of a state lies not in the fact itself,but educate participants who construct meaning from the fact that in the cognitive structure. constructed meaning is dependent on the experience and goals of learners concerned. same facts or circumstances which if observed by two or more observers can be interpreted in a variety of models depending on preconceived notions and tendencies of each observer
