Dari hasil pengamatan dan penelitian, didapatkan fakta konstruktivisme personal. Fakta konstruktivisme personal ini berhubungan dengan individu itu sendiri dan salah satu teori yang melandasi konstruktivisme personal adalah teori Piaget. Peneliti melihat pada saat melakukan proses belajar mengajar, peserta didik mulai membangun sendiri pengetahuannya sedikit demi sedikit melalui pengalaman-pengalaman yang didapat baik itu pada saat melakukan praktikum, mengerjakan LKPD, maupun pada saat berdiskusi walaupun hasil konstruksinya belum terlalu sempurna. Hal ini senada dengan teori Piaget yang menyatakan anak akan membangun sendiri struktur kognitifnya serta membangun konsep-konsep melalui pengalaman-pengalamannya. Teori Piaget menjelaskan tentang dua hal yakni perkembangan kognitif dan hakekat pengetahuan. 1). Dari segi perkembangan kognitifnya. Pada penelitian ini peserta didik yang diteliti adalah peserta didik kelas X SMA Negeri 1 Bangkala Kabupaten Jeneponto yang disesuaikan dengan tingkat perkembangan kognitifnya. Usia peserta didik sudah mencapai tahap operasi formal yaitu perkiraan usia 16 tahun ke atas. Seperti yang diungkapakan Piaget bahwa pada tahap operasi formal perkiraan usianya 11 tahun sampai dewasa. Anak pada operasi formal sudah bisa menggunakan operasi logisnya untuk tugas atau masalah yang bersifat verbal, rumit dan kompleks. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peserta didik yang mengerjakan tugas yang ada di LKPD yang sebagian besar bisa mengerjakannya. 2). Dari segi hakekat pengetahuan. Berdasarkan pandangan Piaget tentang hakekat pengetahuan yaitu pengetahuan tidak diterima secara pasif, melainkan dikonstruksi secara aktif oleh individu. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peneliti yang tidak langsung memberikan materi secara langsung kepada peserta didik, tetapi peneliti membantu peserta didik untuk aktif dalam mengkonstruksi pengetahuan. Keaktifan peserta didik menjadi unsur yang sangat penting dalam menentukan kesuksesan belajar. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari peserta didik yang aktif dalam praktikum, mengerjakan LKPD dan berdiskusi. Menurut Piaget masuknya pengetahuan atau informasi baru dalam struktur kognitif melalui dua mekanisme, yaitu asimilasi dan akomodasi. Pada asimilasi, informasi baru yang dihadapi seseorang langsung diserap masuk ke dalam struktur kognitifnya karena mengandung kesamaan dengan sturktur kognitif yang sudah ada. Sedangkan pada akomodasi peserta didik harus memodifikasi struktur kognitifnya agar mereka dapat menerima informasi baru yang dihadapinya. Arti suatu keadaan tidak terletak dalam kenyataan itu sendiri, tetapi peserta didiklah yang membangun arti dari kenyataan itu di dalam struktur kognitifnya. Arti yang dibangun ini tergantung pada pengalaman dan tujuan peserta didik yang bersangkutan. Fakta atau keadaan yang sama jika diamati oleh dua atau lebih pengamat dapat ditafsirkan dengan berbagai model tergantung pada praduga dan kecenderungan masing-masing pengamat
