St. Andreas Kim Taegon adalah imam

St. Andreas Kim Taegon adalah imam pertama Korea. Ia wafat sebagai martir pada tanggal 16 September 1846, hanya satu tahun setelah ditahbiskan. Ayah St. Andreas Kim telah mendahuluinya menjadi martir pada tahun 1821. St. Paulus Chong Hasang adalah seorang katekis awam yang pemberani. Ia wafat sebagai martir pada tanggal 22 September 1846. Sekarang Gereja berkembang pesat di Korea. Karunia iman diterima karena kurban persembahan para martir telah menjadi pembuka jalan.
St. Andreas Kim Taegon dan St. Paulus Chong Hasang mewakili kemuliaan serta keberanian umat Katolik Korea yang telah membayar mahal cinta mereka kepada Kristus.
Paus Yohanes Paulus II menyatakan 2 orang Korea yaitu St andreas Kim dan St Paulus Chong sebagai porang kudus pada tahun 1984 saat paus mengunjungi Korea.
