Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan media pembelajaran yang layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran. Kelayakan dapat dilihat dari validitas, kepraktisan, serta keefektifan dari media pembelajaran yang telah dikembangkan.
Jenis penelitian adalah penelitian pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah four-D Models yang telah direduksi. Reduksi yang dilakukan antara lain penyederhanaan tahap-tahap pengembangan yaitu tahap pendefinisian (define), tahap perancangan (design) dan tahap pengembangan (develop), sedang tahap penyebaran (desiminate) tidak dilaksanakan.
Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IVA dan IVB SDN Banyu Urip VIII/522 Surabaya dengan desain eksperimen Non Equivalent Control Group. Metode Pengumpulan data meliputi validitas, observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Uji hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan independent sample t test. Uji hipotesis hasil belajar pretest dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui kondisi awal hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan uji hipotesis hasil belajar posttest dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidak pengaruh yang signifikan dari penerapan Media Tiga Dimensi dalam Pembelajaran Model Student Team Achievement Division terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) Kevalidan perangkat yang dikembangkan berkategori baik. 2) Kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran berkategori sangat baik 3) Keefektifan media pembelajaran ditinjau dari hasil aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen menunjukkan persentase sangat baik, ditinjau dari ketuntasan klasikal kelas eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa persentase ketuntasan lebih dari kriteria minimal, dan hasil uji hipotesis pada pretest menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara rata-rata persentase hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan hasil uji hipotesis pada posttest menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh penerapan Media Tiga Dimensi dalam Pembelajaran Model STAD terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas eksperimen lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pengaruh metode pembelajaran konvensional terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas kontrol.
Berdasarkan hasil tersebut maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa perangkat yang dihasilkan layak untuk diterapkan pada pembelajaran karena telah memenuhi tiga kriteria yaitu kevalidan, kepraktisan, dan keefektifan.
