faktor yang mempengaruhi mahasiswa mengalami kemunduran waktu kelulusan adalah mahasiswa yang beberapa semester berturut-turut mendapat nilai rendah atau kurang dari standar yang ditetapkan oleh Academy, serta tidak dapat memenuhi masa studi,
pengelompokan siswa secara manual berdasarkan nilai rata-rata mereka,ini tidak mudah untuk mendapatkan tampilan keseluruhan nilai prestasi siswa 2012.
Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan pengelompokan jumlah waktu mahasiswa mengenai kuliah di Fakultas Informatika Teknik studi program ilmu komputer Universitas Dian Nuswantoro Semarang akademik tahun 2012/2013.
Dengan pengelompokan masa studi para mahasiswa Teknik Informatika 2012 pihak universitas dapat melakukan tindakan atau membuat kebijakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan kemunduran masa studi.

Mahasiswa yang berpotensi mengalami dropout 132 orang dan
Mahasiswa yang berpotensi menyelesaikan masa studinya lebih cepat 156 orang
Mahasiswa yang berpotensi menyelesaikan masa studinya sesuai dengan standar adalah 225 orang
