Karapan Sapi atau yang lebih dikenal dengan sebutan Kerrabhen Sapeh di daerah asalnya ini pasti sudah tidak asing lagi di telinga banyak orang Indonesia. Bahkan Bank Indonesia pernah menampilkan budaya ini pada uang logam Rp. 100 dan itu termasuk cara negri ini memperkenalkan salah satu budaya madura. Karapan Sapi merupakan budaya asli dari tanah Madura yang sudah dikenal sejak abad ke-14 M yang masih di lestarikan hingga sekarang ini.Pada zaman dahulu sapi merupakan satu-satunya alat Transportasi tercepat yang ada di Madura dan banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat , khususnya masyarakat elite atau dari bangsa dan rakyat kerajaan di Madura. Karapan Sapi ini merupakan salah satu contoh budaya, kesenian, provesi, dan juga sebagai hiburan bagi masyarakat Madura yang telah turun temurun dilaksanakan oleh masyarakatnya dari dahulu hingga sekarang ini.

Untuk acara besar perorangan biasanya acara tradisi khas masyarakat Madura ini diadakan apabila ada masyarakat Madura yang telah berhasil atau memperoleh suatu kesuksesan yang bisa mengangkat status sosial.
