Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data diatas, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat perjalanan berdasarkan maksud perjalanan terbanyak adalah untuk berbelanja, yaitu sebesar 21,74 %. Moda yang paling banyak digunakan untuk melakukan perjalanan adalah perahu/speadboat. Hal ini dikarenakan karena daerah yang ingin dicapai harus melewati sungai/laut terlebih dahulu. Sedangkan tingkat perjalanan orang harian dan biaya yang transportasi yang dikeluarkan untuk masing-masing adalah 1 kali perjalanan (pulang pergi) sebesar 49,57% dan Rp.50.000,- s.d Rp 250.000,- sebesar 42,61%.
Skenario Pengembangan Jaringan Jalan
Alternatif usulan kebijakan pengembangan dan pengelolaan jaringan jalan yang dilakukan, meliputi :
1. Alternatif 1, (Do Nothing) yaitu pemeliharaan jalan (Road Maintenance)
Pengembangan dan pengelolaan jaringan jalan pada alternatif 1 ini didasarkan atas kondisi eksisting kondisi jalan yang sudah ada, berdasarkan atas kondisi jaringan jalan dan perbaikan jalan/pemeliharaan jalan saja.
2. Alternatif 2, (Do Something), yaitu pembangunan jalan baru dan peningkatan jalan (New Road Construction). Pengembangan dan pengelolaan jaringan jalan alternatif 2 ini, berdasarkan atas :
a. Pengembangan Jaringan Jalan berdasarkan kebutuhan masyarakat.
b. Pengembangan Jaringan Jalan berdasarkan Arah kebijakan/Undang-undang.
c. Pengembangan Jaringan Jalan berdasarkan Dukungan Pendanaan.
Salah satu elemen penting dalam penyelenggaraan transportasi adalah tersedianya infrastruktur jaringan jalan yang baik dan memenuhi perkembangan pergerakan orang dan barang khususnya di Kabupaten Malinau. Kabupaten Malinau sebagai Kabupaten yang terletak di Provinsi Kalimantan Utara saat ini memiliki jaringan infrastruktur jalan yang belum maksimal untuk memenuhi pergerakan orang dan barang terutama pada wilayah perbatasan, sehingga keterbatasan jaringan jalan yang ada di bandingkan dengan pertumbuhan lalu lintas yang terus mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan menyebabkan berbagai permasalahan. Untuk itu dilakukan pengembangan dan pengelolaan jaringan jalan alternatif 2, yaitu pembangunan jalan baru dan peningkatan jalan (New Road Construction). Pembangunan jalan baru dan peningkatan jalan yang ada dapat dilihat pada gambar dibawah ini.

Malinau District as a district located in the province of North Borneo currently has a network of roads that have not been up to meet the movement of people and goods, especially in the border region, so the limitations of the existing road network in comparison with the traffic growth which continues to experience a significant increase causing various problems. To that made the development and management of the road network of alternative 2, the construction of new roads and the upgrading of roads (New Road Construction).
