Tidak sedikit dari wisatawan yang merasa tertipu dengan trik dari pemilik perahu lokal. Ada yang meminta tambahan dengan alasan bahwa bahan bakar mereka kurang mencukupi untuk kembali ke dermaga, sehingga perlu tambahan biaya untuk pertolongan dari perahu lain. Tambahan donasi yang tidak jelas peruntukannya dan terkesan memaksa sementara mereka sudah dikenakan atau di-charge dengan biaya penyeberangan yang tinggi.
