Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan BOS pada kegiatan pembelajaran siswa SMPN 1 Tanjungsamak Kecamatan Rangsang Kabupaten Kepualauan Meranti dan mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi efektivitas penggunaan BOS pada kegiatan pembelajaran SMPN 1 Tanjungsamak. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menggunakan teori efektivitas organisasi yang dikemukakan oleh Sondang. P Siagian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Informan penelitian terdiri dari kepala sekolah, bendahara sekolah, komite sekolah, pengawas sekolah, kepala tata usaha, masyarakat, dan siswa, dengan teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi dan wawancara. Sedangkan jenis dan sumber data meliputi data premier yaitu data yang diperoleh langsung dari informan penelitian meliputi hasil wawancara dan observasi dan data skunder adalah data yang diperoleh untuk melengkapi data primer yang didapatkan, yang bertujuan untuk menukung hasil penelitian.

Informant research consists of the principal, the school Bursar, School Committee, Superintendent of schools, the head of tata businesses, community, and students, with data collection techniques include observation and interview. While the types and sources of data include the premier data i.e. data obtained directly from the informant research includes interviews and observations and data skunder is data acquired to complement the primary data obtained, which aims to menukung the results of the research.
