Pembangunan pertanian nasional menunjukan kinerja yang semakin baik, hal ini ditandai keberhasilan program strategis Kementerian Pertanian yang diprakarsai oleh Ditjen Teknis terkait seperti Program Peningkatan Beras Nasional (P2BN) serta program Sekolah Lapang Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (SL-PTT) Padi, Jagung dan Kedelai. BPTP Kep. Bangka Belitung sebagai unit kerja Kementerian Pertanian, berkewajiban untuk mengamankan dan mendukung pelaksanaan program tersebut, khususnya yang terkait pendampingan SL-PTT Padi. Tujuan dari kegiatan pendampingan SL-PTT dan Program P2BN adalah; (1) Melaksanakan Diseminasi dan Pendampingan Program Peningkatan Beras Nasional (P2BN) Melalui Pendampingan SL-PTT Padi (>60%) di 5 Kabupaten pada hamparan Denfarm, Laboratorium Lapang (LL) dengan introduksi teknologi Pengelolaan Tanaman Terpadu (PTT) padi (2) Menyiapkan informasi dan materi penyuluhan serta narasumber pada PL II, (3) Menyusun dan merancang rekomendasi teknologi spesifik lokasi, kalender dan pola tanam dalam upaya meningkatkan produksi padi 1,0 -1,5 t/ha, (4) Melaksanakan uji VUB untuk mendapatkan varietas yang adaptif dalam rangka meningkatkan prduksi dan mengantisipasi perubahan di Kep. Bangka Belitung. Cakupan kegiatan pendampingan oleh BPTP dibagi menjadi empat kegiatan, yaitu 1). Pendampingan pada lokasi Denfarm dan 60% LL, unit SL-PTT dan non SL-PTT, 2). Menyiapkan materi penyuluhan dan Narasumber pada PL 2 serta pertemuan penyuluh/kelompok tani di 5 kabupaten, 3). Display uji VUB di 5 kabupaten, dan 4). Temu lapang. Tahapan kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah (a) Penyusunan proposal dan rancangan anggaran belanja, (b) Pembentukan korwil dan tim pendampingan masing-masing kabupaten, (c) Koordinasi dengan dinas atau instansi dan lembaga terkait di tingkat provinsi dan kabupaten, (d) Pertemuan padu padan antara dinas pertanian, lembaga penyuluhan dan BPTP sebagai pelaksana pendampingan SL-PTT padi provinsi dan kabupaten, (e) Pembekalan tim pendamping tingkat BPTP sebelum melaksanakan pendampingan, (f) Penyiapan materi pelatihan untuk PL 2 yang memuat teknologi pendukung SL-PTT padi dan media informasi penyuluhan untuk disebarluaskan, (g) Melaksanakan bentuk-bentuk pendampingan seperti yang diuraikan dalam ruang lingkup kegiatan, (h) Melaksanakan monitoring dan evaluasi secara berkala secara partisipatif dengan dinas pertanian dan lembaga penyuluhan di provinsi dan kabupaten, (i) Pencatatan perkembangan kegiatan secara berkala pendampingan di 60% Denfarm dan unit LL yang didampingi. Dalam pelaksanaannya pengamatan ini akan dilakukan bekerjasama dengan Pemandi apang (PL) dan Ketua Kelompoktani maju. Fokus pencatatan pada aspek penerapan teknologi, kendala dan permasalahan yang dihadapi baik teknis dan non teknis, data pertumbuhan tanaman dan produksi yang diperoleh pada petak LL, uji adaptasi VUB, (j) Pengamatan pada hamparan SL-PTT yaitu data produksi (ubinan) dengan jumlah sampel 10% dari 60% unit yang didampingi di masing-masing kabupaten, (k) Pertemuan berkala korwil dan tim pendamping untuk membahas perkembangan pelaksanaan kegiatan dan penyampaian laporan pendampingan di masing-masing kabupaten, (l) Menyusun laporan berkala dan laporan akhir kegiatan pendampingan.
