Pada zaman dahulu, ditengah hutan terdapat sebuah pohon rindang yang memiliki banyak ranting. Salah satu ranting pohon tersebut terdapat banyak tawon yang bergerombolan membuat rumah.

Ketika terik matahari terasa panas, kancil berlari menuju pohon rindang itu untuk beristirahat. Pada saat kancil beristirahat tiba-tiba macan datang menghampiri kancil. Kancil merasa takut, namun kancil menyembunyikan rasa takutnya dan berusaha untuk menipu macan.

Saat macan ingin memakan kancil, kancil menghentikan macan dan mengatakan bahwa ia sedang menjalankan tugas dari nabi sulaiman untuk menjaga gongnya.

Setelah mengetahui semuanya, macan ingin kancil memukul gong tersebut,akantetapi kancil selalu menolaknya.
