di tempat ini pernah menjadi pusat pemerintahan kerajaan sumedang larang ketika melawan penjajahan belanda. ada terdapat tiga situs yang dipercaya oleh masyarakat sumedang sebagai sisa peninggalan raja sumedang larang, situs-situs itu terdiri dari tiga makam yang terletak di alun-alun dayeuh luhur, adapun tiga makam yang berada di alun-alun dayeuh luhur yaitu makam raja sumedang yang bernama prabu geusan ulun, makam seorang putri yang bernama putri harisbaya, yang mana harisbaya ini diyakini sebagai istri daripada prabu geusan ulun. dan makam pangeran rangga gempol 1. makam pangeran rangga gempol 1 merupakan makam pindahan dari yogyakarta pada tahun 1998. tidak jauh dari situ ada sebuah tempat berupa patilasan (jika dalam bahasa sunda) tidak berupa makam akan tetapi tempat persemedian orang yg dipercaya sebagai orang sakti mandraguna yang konon menurut babad sumedang orang tersebut adalah mahapatih kerajaan sumedang yang bernama jayaperkasa. dikarenakan adanya situs-situs sejarah yang berupa makam tersebut hingga pada akhirnya tempat ini dikenal oleh masyarakat sumedang sebagai tempat wisata ziarah.
