Inilah martabat-martabat ilmu ; yang pertama dan kedua adalah mendengarkan dan memahaminya dengan hati maksudnya mengikatnya dan menjadi tetap di dalam hatinya…Yang ketiga adalah menghafalnya sehingga tidak melupakannya, dan yang keempat adalah menyampaikan dan menyebarkannya kepada umat sehingga tercapai maksud dan buahnya yaitu menyebarkannya kepada umat, karena ia bagaikan harta karun yang terpendam di dalam bumi yang apabila tidak dipergunakan ia akan segera hilang. Ilmu bila tidak diinfakkan dan diajarkan akan hilang, namun bila diinfakkan ia akan berkembang dan bertambah.Barangsiapa yang melaksanakan empat martabat ini, ia termasuk ke dalam do’a Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam tersebut yang mengandung keindahan lahir dan batin. Karena nudlrah adalah keindahan dan keelokan yang menghiasi wajah akibat pengaruh iman, kebaikan batin, kegembiraan hati, dan merasakan kelezatannya yang semuanya itu tampak sebagai cahaya di wajah
