Pada saat sekarang ini, LPG 3 kg telah menjadi kebutuhan yang sangat penting dalam kehidupan, baik dalam penggunaan untuk rumah tangga maupun untuk menunjang pengembangan usaha mikro. Dalam proses distribusi LPG 3 kg memerlukan pengawasan yang ketat dan merata diseluruh wilayah distribusi di Kota Pekanbaru, salah satunya di Kelurahan Sidomulyo Barat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengawasan distribusi LPG 3 kg di Kelurahan Sidomulyo Barat Kecamatan Tampan Oleh Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Kota Pekanbaru (studi kasus: Pangkalan LPG 3 kg) dan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengawasan dalam pendistribusian LPG 3 kg.
Dalam teori Ukas, terdapat 3 (tiga) indikator pengawasan, yaitu: menentukan standar ukuran, melakukan perbandingan, dan melakukan tindakan koreksi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik purposive sampling. Informan pada penelitian ini adalah Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Kota Pekanbaru, PT. Pertamina (Persero), Penyalur LPG 3 kg, Sub Penyalur LPG 3 kg, dan Konsumen LPG 3 kg.
Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pengawasan yang dilakukan belum maksimal dan merata. Terdapat beberapa pelanggaran terhadap Standar Operasional Prosedur (SOP) yang dilakukan Sub Penyalur LPG 3 kg di wilayah distribusi Kelurahan Sidomulyo Barat Kecamatan Tampan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi pengawasan terdiri atas faktor internal yaitu sumber daya manusia (SDM), koordinasi, dan sarasana dan prasarana. Faktor eksternal berasal dari Sub Penyalur LPG 3 kg yang melakukan pelanggaran, seharusnya Sub Penyalur LPG 3 kg ikut serta dalam melakukan pengawasan terhadap distribusi LPG 3 kg.

Informants in this study is the Department of industry and trade of the city of Pekanbaru, PT Pertamina (Persero), retailer of LPG 3 kg, Sub Contracting LPG 3 kg, and consumers LPG 3 kg. Based on the research that has been done, the results of this research show that the supervision is done have not been fullest and evenly. There is some violation of operational standards procedures (SOP) Sub Contracting LPG 3 kg in the area of distribution of the village Western subdistrict of Sidomulyo handsome. Factors affecting supervision consists of internal factors namely human resources (HR), sarasana and coordination, and infrastructure. External factors stemming from the Sub Contracting LPG 3 kg a violation, it should be a Sub Contracting LPG 3 kg participated in conducting surveillance against the distribution of LPG 3 kg.
