Pemeriksaan IVU di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Panti Rapih Yogyakarta berbeda dengan teori. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui prosedur pemeriksaan, alasan dilakukan persiapan selama 24 jam, dan tujuan penambahan proyeksi AP pada menit ke 30 post media kontras.
Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara dengan satu dokter spesialis urologi, dua dokter spesialis radiologi, dan tiga radiografer. Data hasil dari observasi dan wawancara selanjutnya dibuat transkrip untuk dianalisa dengan interaktif model sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik pemeriksaan pemeriksaan IVU pada kasus nefrolitiasis di Instalasi Radiologi Rumah Sakit Panti Rapih Yogyakarta menggunakan proyeksi AP pada foto polos, post media kontras 5, 15, dan PM, sedangkan menit 30 dilakukan 2 proyeksi AP dan PA. Alasan persiapan pasien dilakukan selama 24 jam adalah untuk efisiensi waktu. Tujuan ditambahkan proyeksi AP adalah sebagai evaluasi perjalanan kontras dan memperjelas gambaran bila ada sumbatan.
