Penelitian lainnya dilakukan di Universitas Diponegoro dan Institut Teknologi Bandung yang menguji sensitivitas Salmonella typhi terhadap ekstrak cacing tanah secara in vitro. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan ekstrak cacing tanah spesies Lumbricus rubellus dan Pheretima sp memberikan hasil yang efektif dalam menurunkan jumlah koloni Salmonella typhi
