Parangtritis is the name of a village in sub-district of Kretek, Bantul, Yogyakarta. In the village there is the coast of the Indian Ocean located approximately 25 km south of Yogyakarta. Parangtritis is a well-known tourist attraction in the city in addition to the other coast objects like Samas, Baron, Kukup, Krakal and Glagah. Southern has the uniqueness of the landscape which is not found on other sights i.e in addition to large waves also there is mountains of sand that is high around the beach, the dunes called dune. This tourist attraction is already managed by the local Government of Bantul with enough good, ranging from lodging facilities as well as a market selling typical souvenirs.
