Parangtritis adalah nama desa di kecamatan Kretek, Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Di desa ini terdapat pantai Samudera Hindia yang terletak kurang lebih 25 km sebelah selatan kota Yogyakarta. Parangtritis merupakan objek wisata yang cukup terkenal di Yogyakarta selain objek pantai lainnya seperti Samas, Baron, Kukup, Krakal dan Glagah. Parangtritis mempunyai keunikan pemandangan yang tidak terdapat pada objek wisata lainnya yaitu selain ombak yang besar juga adanya gunung-gunung pasir yang tinggi di sekitar pantai, gunung pasir tersebut biasa disebut gumuk. Objek wisata ini sudah dikelola oleh pihak pemda Bantul dengan cukup baik, mulai dari fasilitas penginapan maupun pasar yang menjajakan souvenir khas Parangtritis. Selain itu ada pemandian yang disebut parang wedang konon air di pemandian dapat menyembuhkan berbagai macam penyakit diantaranya penyakit kulit, air dari pemandian tersebut mengandung belerang yang berasal dari pengunungan di lokasi tersebut. Air panas dari parang wedang dialirkan ke pantai parangtritis untuk bilas setelah bermain pasir dan juga mengairi kolam kecil bermain anak-anak. Di Parangtritis ada juga ATV, kereta kuda & kuda yang dapat disewa untuk menyusuri pantai dari timur ke barat. selain itu juga parangtritis sebagai tempat untuk olahraga udara/aeromodeling.
