pemilihan presiden adalah sarana pelaksanaan kedaulatan rakyat dalam Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia yang berdasarkan Pancasila dan Undang-Undang Dasar Negara Republik Indonesia Tahun 1945 untuk memilih Presiden dan Wakil Presiden.
Syarat-syarat pemilih dalam Pemilihan presiden sebagai berikut:
warga negara indonesia yang berumur tujuh belas tahun
harus terdaftar sebagai pemilih.
tidak gila
tidak sedang menjalani pidana penjara atau pidana
tidak sedang dicabut hak pilihnya berdasarkan putusan Pengadilan
