Apa yang sebenarnya terjadi di Nome ?
Nome, adalah sebuah desa kecil di Alaska yang berpenduduk hanya sekitar 4.000 jiwa. Dalam rentang waktu sekitar 40 tahun, puluhan penduduk desa itu menghilang atau tewas karena sebab yang tidak bisa dijelaskan, kebanyakan adalah para penduduk asli Alaska.

Walaupun telah terjadi sejak tahun 1960an, baru pada tahun 2005 FBI dipanggil untuk menyelidiki kasus ini karena kecurigaan adanya pembunuh berantai yang bergentayangan di Alaska. Departemen analisa perilaku FBI dari Quantico setuju untuk memprofile setiap kasus dengan tujuan untuk menemukan mata rantai yang menghubungkannya.

Setelah melakukan penyelidikan intensif terhadap 24 kasus yang diserahkan oleh kepolisian setempat, FBI menemukan hanya 9 orang yang benar-benar menghilang tanpa jejak. Sisanya tewas oleh sebab yang tidak terlalu jelas. Namun FBI berkesimpulan bahwa tewasnya sejumlah orang ini sangat erat kaitannya dengan konsumsi alkohol dan cuaca musim dingin yang sangat tidak bersahabat. Nome memang terkenal dengan bar dan minuman kerasnya.

Nome, is a small village in Alaska with a population of only about 4,000 inhabitants. In the span of about 40 years, dozens of villagers had disappeared or were killed for reasons that can not be explained, most of whom were natives of Alaska. Although there have been since the 1960s, new in 2005, the FBI called in to investigate the case because of suspicions of a serial killer roaming in Alaska. FBI behavioral analysis department of Quantico agree to memprofile each case with the aim to find a chain that connect to it. After conducting an intensive investigation of the 24 cases submitted by local police, the FBI found only 9 people who actually disappeared without a trace. The rest were killed by causes that are not too obvious. However, the FBI concluded that the deaths of a number of these people is closely associated with alcohol consumption and the winter weather was very unfriendly. Nome is famous for bars and liquor.
