Curing adalah proses pembuatan ban dari material green tyre yang diberi tekanan dan dipanaskan menggunakan steam. Steam yang digunakan harus memiliki suhu tertentu sesuai dengan spesifikasi ban yang digunakan. Untuk memastikan tekanan dan suhu steam sesuai dengan spesifikasi, maka dibutuhkan HMI untuk memudahkan operator dalam memonitoring mesin curing. Selai memonitoring steam pada mesin, kondisi mesin juga harus bisa dimonitor oleh pinak engineering agar bisa dilakukan perbaikan saat terjadi kerusakan.

Pada penelitian ini akan dilakukan perancangan aplikasi monitorng mesin curing menggunakan microsoft visual basic untuk memonitor mesin RTC di departemen curing plan R. Mesin tersebut dilengkapi dengan sistem otomatisasi menggunakan PLC. PLC yang digunakan adalah PLC Omron Sysmac CJ1M-CPU12. Dengan serial komunikasi RS 232 PLC akan dihubungkan dengan PC untuk memonitoring mesin.
