Suku Mentawai merupakan salah satu suku asli Indonesia yang berasal dari Sumatera Barat. Masyarakat suku ini memiliki suatu adat atau budaya untuk mentato diri mereka, disebut Titi. Titi merupakan budaya mentato diri dengan garis atau simbol-simbol tertentu. Dalam Arat Sabulungun, atau aliran kepercayaan masyarakat pedalaman Mentawai, Titi merupakan simbol keagungan yang berisi falsafah hidup dan perjalanan abadi menuju surga. Seseorang yang akan mentiti anggota tubuhnya harus menghidangkan santapan daging babi dan ayam sebelum dirajah oleh Sipatiti, sang pentato.
