Nama Gloria Natapradja Hamel tengah menjadi sorotan. Gadis itu dicoret dari daftar anggota Pasukan Pengibar Bendera Pusaka (Paskibraka) di Hari Kemerdekaan RI ke 71 besok di Istana Merdeka. Bukan karena melakukan kesalahan. Namun Gloria tersandung masalah kewarganegaraan. Dia telah memegang paspor Prancis.

Gadis blasteran Prancis-Indonesia telah melewati proses seleksi dan latihan ketat sejak dari tingkat kabupaten/kota. Namun, pada detik-detik terakhir akan menunaikan tugas dalam upacara HUT ke-71 RI di Istana Kepresidenan, langkah Gloria kandas.
Akan tetapi, mimpi Gloria Natapradja Hamel untuk hadir di Istana Merdeka tak sepenuhnya pupus. Seusai menjalankan tugas mengibarkan bendera, anggota Paskibraka mendatanginya sambil memeluk dan menangis di Kompleks Istana Merdeka, Jakarta Pusat, Rabu (17/8/2016).

Selama rekan-rekannya bertugas, ia menyaksikan jalannya upacara melalui layar televisi di Wisma Negara. Sebelum ke istana, Gloria mengikuti upacara bendera di Kemenpora pukul 08.00. Setelah itu, bersama Menpora Imam Nahrawi berangkat ke istana.

Seusai pengibaran bendera, Gloria menjadi satu-satunya anggota Paskibraka yang diajak Jokowi makan siang bersama dengan para pejabat negara dan tamu penting lainnya. Dirinya pun dipastikan ikut upacara penurunan

Presiden Joko Widodo merasa senang dapat bertemu secara langsung dengan Gloria Natapraja Hamel, anggota Paskibraka yang sempat digugurkan karena punya paspor Perancis.

Ketika bertemu di Istana Merdeka, Rabu (17/8/2016), usai pengibaran bendera, Presiden Jokowi mengungkapkan rasa senangnya itu. “‘Ini dia nih yang terkenal banget di TV’. Kata Pak Presiden begitu sambil ketawa,” ujar Gloria di Wisma Negara, usai pertemuan.

Di dalam, Gloria tidak hanya bertemu Presiden Jokowi. Gloria juga bertemu Ibu Negara Iriana, Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla, dan presiden ke-5 RI, Megawati Soekarnoputri.

Dalam pertemuan itu pula Gloria menerima kabar baik bahwa dirinya diperkenankan untuk ikut Tim Bima dalam upacara penurunan bendera, Rabu sore.

Menteri Pemuda dan Olahraga Imam Nahrawi mengapresiasi Gloria Natapradja Hamel yang menerima keputusan pembatalan dirinya sebagai calon anggota Paskibraka 2016.

Gloria dinyatakan tak masuk dalam Paskibraka yang akan bertugas pada upacara HUT ke-71 RI, Rabu (17/8/2016) besok, di Istana Negara Jakarta, karena persoalan status kewarganegaraan.

Namun, rencananya, Gloria akan diberikan kesempatan untuk berkarya dengan menjadi Duta Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga. Imam menilai, Gloria memiliki kekuatan mental dalam menghadapi masalah.

“Gloria akan ikut dan menyebarkan semangat pantang menyerahnya di acara dan agenda-agenda Kementerian Pemuda dan Olahraga yang banyak jadwalnya di sekolah dan daerah-daerah,” kata Imam.
Imam mengatakan, Gloria dapat menjadi inspirasi baru bagi generasi muda Indonesia untuk tidak berhenti ketika menghadapi masalah dalam menggapai cita-cita.

“Coba lihat dia (Gloria). Dia bisa bahasa Inggris, Perancis, Jepang, dan Korea nih, atlet juga. Seusia dia yang punya mental seperti itu, dia tak mendeskreditkan siapapun, tak mencari kambing hitam. Berarti, pola pikir dia benar-benar maju,” ujar Imam.

Namun, Imam belum menjelaskan kapan penyematan Gloria sebagai Duta Kemenpora tersebut akan dilakukan.

Gloria digugurkan pada Senin (15/8/2016) kemarin saat 67 calon Paskibraka lainnya dikukuhkan Presiden Joko Widodo di Istana Presiden.
