Kapal pengangkut WNI tenggelam di Malaysia, puluhan hilang

Sebanyak 10 warga negara Indonesia meninggal dunia dan puluhan lainnya belum ditemukan setelah kapal yang mereka tumpangi tenggelam di Pantai Batu Layar, Johor, Malaysia.

Data sementara Kementerian Luar Negeri RI menunjukkan kapal yang bertolak dari Johor, Malaysia, menuju Batam, Indonesia, itu mengangkut 62 orang. Dari jumlah tersebut, 10 jenazah telah ditemukan dan sebanyak 34 orang berhasil diselamatkan. Dengan demikian masih ada 18 penumpang lainnya yang dalam proses pencarian oleh regu penyelamat.

Direktur Perlindungan WNI, Kemenlu RI, Lalu Muhamad Iqbal, mengatakan baru dua jenazah yang bisa diidentifikasi secara visual oleh keluarga mereka di Malaysia.

"Sebagaimana dalam kasus serupa sebelumnya, salah satu tantangan dalam identifikasi adalah kondisi jenazah serta tidak adanya tanda pengenal yang dapat dijadikan rujukan. Kemlu telah berkoordinasi dengan DVI Polri untuk mengantisipasi kebutuhan bantuan proses identifikasi jenazah," kata Lalu.

Kemenlu RI menyebut insiden itu bermula ketika mesin kapal tidak berfungsi pada pukul 23.00, Sabtu (23/07). Sesaat kemudian kapal dihempas gelombang laut lalu tenggelam.

Kronologi kejadian diketahui setelah Konsul Jenderal RI mewawancarai beberapa orang di antara 34 korban selamat. Dari 34 orang yang diselamatkan, 10 orang berasal dari Nusa Tenggara Barat, sembilan orang asal Jawa Timur, empat orang dari Aceh, empat asal Sumatera Utara, tiga orang dari Nusa Tenggara Timur, dua orang dari Banten, seorang asal Jambi, dan seorang dari Sumatera Barat.

Menurut Konjen RI di Johor, Taufiqur Rizal, pihak imigrasi dan kepolisian Malaysia sepakat untuk mempermudah proses pemulangan para korban selamat.

“Karena itu KJRI saat ini sudah mulai menyiapkan dokumen perjalanan bagi para korban,” kata Taufiqur Rizal.

Insiden kapal tenggelam di perairan Malaysia yang mengakibatkan WNI meninggal dunia telah berulang kali terjadi. Berdasarkan catatan Kemenlu, sejak 2013 telah terjadi 7 peristiwa tenggelamnya kapal pengangkut WNI. Dari tujuh peristiwa tersebut tercatat sedikitnya 152 orang meninggal dunia dan hilang.

Insiden terkini berlangsung pada Januari 2016, ketika 13 jenazah WNI terdampar di pantai dekat kota Bandar Penawar, Johor Selatan.
