Komunitas ini menamakan dirinya dengan sebutan “Suku Dayak Hindu Budha Bumi Segandu Indramayu”. Penggunaan kata “Hindu”, karena komunitas ini meneladani peri kehidupan kelima tokoh Pandawa, yang terdiri atas: Yudistira, Bima(Wirekudara), Arjuna(Permadi), Nakula dan Sadewa, serta tokoh Semar, yang dipandang sebagai seorang mahaguru yang sangat bijaksana. Adapun penyebutan kata “Budha” karena mereka mengambil inti ajaran “aji rasa” (tepuk seliro) dan kesahajaan yang merupakan inti ajaran agama Budha.
