Saeed sepenuhnya mengakui bahwa al-Qur'an adalah wahyu Tuhan yang diturunkan kepada Muhammad dan bahwa al-Qur'an yang ada sekarang ini otentik. Saeed mengkritik penafsiran tekstual ataupun semi-tekstual, yang dalam penafsirannya, mereka hanya berhenti kepada penelusuran literal saja.
