Semangat Bersaing Indonesia Masih Lemah

Balikpapan, Jia Xiang –Semangat bersaing orang Indonesia dinilai masih lemah. Hal ini ditegaskan oleh mantan Duta Besar Indonesia untuk Amerika Serikat, Dino Patti Djalal.

Menurut dia, dalam birokrasi pemerintahan, banyak orang meraih jabatan tinggi tetapi bukan karena faktor prestasi yang dimilikinya, tapi karena kedekatan dengan atasan atau alasan lainnya.

“Tak hanya dalam birokrasi pemerintahan, semangat bersaing juga dinilainya lemah dalam dunia politik,” kata Dino yang dikutip Antara, Jumat (21/2/14).

Dino Patti Djalal menyatakan, kondisi itu menyebabkan meritokrasi di Indonesia masih lemah. Meritokrasi adalah sistem politik yang memberikan penghargaan lebih kepada figur yang berprestasi terlepas dari kasta, suku, agama atau hubungan darahnya.

Ia menginginkan sistem merit bisa menjadi roh bagi Indonesia agar mampu membawa Indonesia menjadi unggul. "Merit system mebuat kita memiliki semangat bersaing yang tinggi," ujarnya.[U1]
