emampuan to communicate through empathy and understanding the feelings of others can be done in a verbal or nonverbal (Cotton, in garton & Gringart, 2005). Hoffman (1984) described the development of empathy with regard to a person's ability to distinguish himself by other people. Hoffman describes empathy in four stages, namely:1. The first stage is the stage of infancy, in which the individual has not been able to distinguish between the others and himself, but already can show empathy in a rudimentary form, like crying when hear another baby crying2. The second stage is when the child is able to distinguish physically between others by himself3. The third stage starts at the age of two or three years, where the child begins to realize that other people can have different feelings with him. This capability will continue to evolve in line with the development of children's ability in distinguishing himself from others. On the education of primary school, children are able to develop the ability to empathize with others who do not present nearby. At this stage already involves the ability to understand empathy theorist others (perspective taking)4. The fourth stage children are able to empathise not only on what is happening at present, but have also been able to empathize in the Group of people or society.
