Aung San Suu Kyi sempat meninggalka

Aung San Suu Kyi sempat meninggalkan Burma dan tinggal di Inggris untuk beberapa waktu. Di sana pula ia mengenal Michael Aris (David Thewlis), pria yang kemudian menjadi suaminya. Suatu ketika, Aung San Suu Kyi harus pulang ke Burma karena ibunya yang sedang sakit. Saat pulang inilah Aung San Suu Kyi melihat nasib bangsanya yang tak bisa menikmati indahnya demokrasi.
