ABSTRAK

Sekolah dasar tahun pelajaran 2013-2014, khususnya pada materi pengembangan pengenalan konsep gejala alam, proses dan gaya belajar anak selama ini cenderung bersifat konvensional, Sehingga proses pembelajaran cenderung terfokus ke buku pelajaran dan guru sebagai sumber utama. Hal ini yang mendasari pentingnya dibuatkan perancangan desain flip chart sebagai bahan ajar yang lebih interaktif sebagai pengganti buku pelajaran di mata pelajaran bidang kebencanaan di sekolah dasar kelas 5 SD.
Media ini adalah solusi dari permasalahan guru ketika menjelaskan proses gunung meletus, tsunami, banjir, dan gempa bumi, tetapi para siswa masih bingung karena guru tidak menggunakan media. Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut adalah menggunakan media sederhana yang dapat digunakan oleh guru yaitu media flip chart yang dapat membantu guru dalam menghemat waktunya dan ruang untuk menulis atau menempelkan gambar-gambar di papan tulis.
Dengan adanya media flip chart audience akan lebih mengimajinasikan dan melihat secara langsung kejadian bencana dan ciri-ciri juga cara mengatasi saat mereka dihadapkan langsung oleh bencana dengan penggambaran kebencanaan dalam media flip chart.
