Penemuan Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) oleh Syech Abdul Muhyi adalah pencarian beliau selama belasan tahun sejak menerima perintah guru Beliau, Syech Abdul Ra'uf bin Ali Alfansuri (Syiah Kuala) untuk mencari goa di pulau Jawa bagian barat. Perintah untuk menemukan Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) diterima pada tahun 1677 M/ 1099H ketika Syech Abdul Ra'uf bin Abdul Jabar dan Syech Abdul Muhyi pulang ke Kuala (Aceh) dari berhaji di Mekkah, Saudi Arabia.

Perjalanan menemukan Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) dilakukan oleh Syech Abdul Muhyi dan keluarganya ditempuh dengan berjalan kaki. Selama dalam perjalanan semangat dan rasa ketawakalan kepada Allah SWT mengarahkan Syech Abdul Muhyi dari Gersik kemudian ke Darma Kuningan dilanjutkan ke Pamengpeuk (Garut Selatan) lalu ke tempat bernama Batuwangi kemudian ke Lebaksiuh sehingga akhirnya tiba diatas Gunung Kampung Cilumbu (sebelah timur dari Lebaksiuh berjarak kurang lebih 6km). Tempat terakhir yang disinggahi Syech Abdul Muhyi tersebut kemudian diberi nama Gunung Mujarod.

Perjuangan menemukan dilakukan Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) oleh Syech Abdul Muhyi adalah 12 tahun. Penemuan Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) adalah tahun 1690 M disaat Syech Abdul Muhyi genap berusia 40 tahun. Goa Safarwadi (Goa Pamijahan) terletak di kaki gunung yang diberi nama oleh Syech Abdul Muhyi dengan Gunung Mujarod.

Nama Gunung Mujarod tersebut diambil dari bahasa arab yang berarti tempat penenangan atau dalam bahasa sunda nyirnakeun manah. Nama yang berarti tempat menyirnakan diri menenangkan hati tersebut diberikan karena Syech Abdul Muhyi sering taqorub mendekatkan diri kepada Allah SWT.
