4. Seleksi Akademik Calon Kepala Sekolah/Madrasah
Seleksi akademik dilakukan untuk mengungkapkan potensi kepemimpinan calon kepala sekolah/ madrasah melalui rekomendasi dari kepala sekolah dan pengawas sekolahnya, penilaian kinerja guru, penilana potensi kepemimpinan (PPK), dan penulisan makalah kepemimpinan, sebagai rangkaian program rekruitmen calon kepala sekolah/ madrasah.
Tujuan Seleksi Akademik adalah :
a. Mendapatkan calon kepala sekolah/madrasah yang memiliki rekomendasi profesional tentang penguasaan lima kompetensi kepala sekolah/madrasah dan pengembangan keprofesiannya dari kepala sekolah/madrasah dan pengawas sekolah/madrasah;
b. Mendapatkan calon kepala sekolah/ madrasah yang memiliki potensi kepemimpinan yang baik;
c. Menilai pengetahuan, wawasan, gambaran gaya / corak / karakteristik kepemimpinan, pengalaman kepemimpinan yang pernah dilakukan dan dimiliki oleh para calon kepala sekolah/madrasah.
Sebelum dilaksanakan seleksi akademik maka, kegiatan yang harus diikuti oleh guru sebagai calon kepala sekolah/madrasah adalah ( a) pengusulan calon oleh kepala sekolah dan atau pengawas, (b) seleksi administrasi yang dijelaskan sebagai berikut:
a. Pengusulan Calon
Pengusulan guru sebagai calon kepala sekolah/madrasah dilakukan melalui langkah- langkah pengumuman, identitas guru potensional, penyiapan berkas usulan, dan pengajuan usulan calon kepala sekolah. Guru potensial yang memenuhi persyaratan dapat diusulkan kepada dinas pendidikan / kantor kementerian agama oleh kepala sekolah / madrasah atau bersama-sama dengan pengawas.
b. Seleksi Administrasi
Seleksi administrasi dilakukan melalui penilaian kelengkapan dokumen guru sebagai calon kepala sekolah/madrasah yang dikeluarkan oleh pihak berwenang sebagai bukti bahwa calon kepala sekolah/madrasah bersangkutan telah memenuhi persyaratan yang telah ditentukan. Seleksi administratif dilakukan oleh Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten / Kota atau Kantor Wilayah Kementerian Agama / Kantor Kementerian Agama Kabupaten / Kota melalui panitia seleksi yang di tunjuk dan ditetapkan yang kemudian dilakukan seleksi akademik.
