However, (Wolf et al., 1995) asserts that the granting of incentives to encourage the achievement of long-term outcomes directly (or in other words, instead of targeting the completion of a specific task that later needed to achieve long-term outcomes) will not be effective. First, according to the (Wolf et al., 1995), targeting the huge attainment outcomes directly is an excessive action. When individuals do not have specific standards of conduct that are necessary for achieving the target outcomes, targeted goals will be difficult to achieve. Second, the great goal of targeting directly can't afford to encourage behavior change, thus reducing the possibility to bring up self-efficacy belief and interest in order to achieve the targeted goals.
