Penyanyi bernama lengkap Sri Rossa Roslaina Handiyani, atau yang akrab disapa Rossa, lahir di Sumedang, 9 Oktober 1978. Wanita lulusan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (FISIP) Universitas Indonesia ini merupakan anak pertama dari tiga bersaudara pasangan Ukas Hasan Irawan dan Eni Kusmiani.

Rossa mewarisi bakat menyanyi yang sudah ia tunjukkan sejak kecil dari ibunya. Bahkan menginjak usia 10 tahun, Rossa sudah merilis sebuah album anak-anak berjudul "Untuk Sahabatku" (1988). Namun album tersebut gagal menyedot perhatian publik.

Album kedua Rossa, "Tegar" (2000), resmi dirilis. Single "Tegar" (2000) yang menjadi andalan pun sukses membawa Rossa sebagai "Most Favorite Female Artist" di ajang penghargaan "MTV Indonesia Awards 2000".

Respon positif publik membuat Rossa terus eksis di industri musik Indonesia dengan merilis beberapa album selanjutnya, yaitu "Kini" (2002), "Kembali" (2005) dan "Yang Terpilih" (2007). Album "Yang Terpilih" memuat lagu-lagu lama Rossa yang ia nyanyikan kembali dengan aransemen baru. Album ini mendapat respon hangat sampai ke negeri Jiran, Malaysia.
