Berdasarkan jenis mata pencaharian, sektor pertanian menjadi mata pencaharian utama sebagian besar penduduk di kecamatan dengan transisi tinggi, kecuali di Jakarta. Kondisi ini juga dipertegas dengan keberadaan industri di beberapa wilayah kecamatan sampel atau di sekitarnya serta adanya penggunaan lahan. Adanya industri mengindikasikan tersedianya alternatif pekerjaan bagi masyarakat kecamatan dengan level transisi rendah. Jika dilihat dari kondisi pada tingkat desa sampel, tidak tampak adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dari jenis mata pencaharian penduduk di antara kedua kategori wilayah.

Based on the type of livelihood, agriculture became the main livelihood of the majority of the inhabitants of the district with the high transition, except in Jakarta. This condition is also emphasized by the existence of the industry in some areas of the sub sample or in the surroundings as well as the presence of land use. The existence of industry indicates the availability of alternative employment for the community sub-district with low transition level. If seen from the conditions at the village level, the sample does not seem the existence of significant differences from the type of livelihood of residents between the two categories of region.
