Masjid Jawatha adalah tempat tersuci ketiga didunia.
Sebagai tempat salat Nabi Muhammad SAW, masjid ini dikisahkan pernah menjadi tempat penyembunyian batu Hajr Al Aswad yang sempat dicuri dari dari Makkah oleh Bani Qarmati selama hampir 22 tahun.
Dipimpin oleh Ahmad al-Qarmati, Bani Qarmati menginvasi Ka'bah dan melakukan pembunuhan terhadap lebih dari 70.000 orang.
