Penyebab terbesar Angka Kematian Ibu yaitu preeklamsia 38%, hipertensi dalam kehamilan 3%, HPP 19%, inversio 3%, rupture uteri 2%, dan lain-lain 38%. Sedangkan Angka Kematian Bayi (AKB) di wilayah Kabupaten Kupang tahun 2012 tercatat sebanyak 217 kematian per 1000 Kelahiran Hidup.
