Pada tahun awal pengamatan (tahun 1986), distribusi proporsi masing-masing jenis kegiatan komersial cenderung tidak merata disetiap kecamatan di Kota Banjarmasin. Sebaran kegiatan komersial terbesar terdapat di kecamatan Banjarmasin Timur sebesar 181,05 Ha atau 21.450 unit kemudian di ikuti kecamatan Banjarmasin Tengah sebesar 62,73 Ha atau 7.432 unit. Pada tahun 1996 dan 2006, pertumbuhan kegiatan komersial per kecamatan berkembang pesat dan Banjarmasin Timur dan Banjarmasin Tengah adalah kecamatan dengan pertumbuhan paling pesat seperti tahun 1986. (Lihat Tabel 2.3).
Distribusi frekuensi rata-rata pertumbuhan unit kegiatan komersial per kecamatan dapat dilihat pada Tabel 2.4, dimana pertumbuhan unit kegiatan komersial subsektor Perdagangan Besar, Eceran, dan Rumah makan serta Jasa Akomodasi terbesar berada pada kecamatan Banjarmasin Timur sebesar 1.001,2 unit/thn. Subsektor Pengangkutan dan Komunikasi terbesar berada pada kecamatan Banjarmasin Timur sebesar 409,4 unit/thn. Subsektor Bank, Lembaga Keuangan dan Jasa Perusahaan mengalami penurunan terbesar di kecamatan Banjarmasin Timur sebesar -159,1 unit/thn. Dan subsektor Jasa-Jasa Swasta mengalami pertumbuhan unit kegiatan komersial terbesar berada pada kecamatan Banjarmasin Timur sebesar 210,3 unit/thn.

(See table 2.3).Frequency distribution of average growth in commercial activity units per district can be seen in Table 2.4, where the growth of the commercial activities of units of large, Retail Trade subsector, and as well as largest Accommodation Services of kecamatan Banjarmasin is East of 1.001 .2 units/yr. The biggest Communication and Transportation subsector in the East of 409,4 subdistrict of Bacolod units/yr. Subsector the Bank, financial institutions and Service Companies experiencing the biggest decline in district East of Biak-159.1 units/yr. In 1996 and 2006, the growth of commercial activities by district developed rapidly and Banjarmasin Banjarmasin and the Middle East is the fastest-growing districts such as 1986. (See Table 2.3).
The distribution frequency of average growth in commercial activity units per sub-district can be seen in Table 2.4, where the growth in commercial activity unit subsector Wholesale, Retail, and house dining and accommodation service Banjarmasin most are in the Eastern districts of 1001.2 units / yr. Transportation and Communication sub-sector is the largest in East Banjarmasin districts of 409.4 units / yr. Subsector Banks, Financial Institutions and Business Services experienced the largest decline in the district of East Banjarmasin amounted to -159.1 units / yr. And subsector Private Offices growth unit is the largest commercial activity in Banjarmasin Eastern districts of 210.3 units / yr.
