Homeschooling mampu memberikan pencapaian fungsi dan tujuan pendidikan nasional yaitu mengembangkan kemampuan dan membentuk watak serta peradaban bangsa yang bermartabat dalam rangka mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa, bertujuan untuk berkembangnya potensi peserta didik agar menjadi manusia yang beriman dan bertakwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, berakhlak mulia.Berdasarkan hal tersebut, tujuan penulisan artikel ini tidak lain adalah untuk (1) mengetahui pengertian pendidikan Homeschooling. (2) Mengatahui dampak dari pendidikan Homeschooling. (3) Mengatahui alasan orang memilih pendidikan Homeschooling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah metode studi pustaka, yakni dengan mengumpulkan berbagai informasi tentang homeschooling dari berbagai sumber baik dari buku maupun internet. Setelah dilakukan kajian yang mendalam terhadap beberapa pustaka. Didapatkan hasil berupa simpulan sebagai berikut. (1) Homeschooling adalah model pendidikan di mana sebuah keluarga memilih untuk bertanggung jawab sendiri atas pendidikan anak-anaknya dan mendidik anaknya dengan menggunakan rumah sebagai basis pendidikannya Orangtua. (2) ada dua dampak pendidikan homeschooling yakni dampak positif dan dampak negated. Dampak positif pendidikan Homeschooling adalah dapat meminimalisir tumbuhnya sifat-sifat negative dari anak tersebut dan dapat mempererat hubungan orang tua dengan si anak. Dampak negatif pendidikan Homeschooling adalah anak tidak bisa bersosialisasi dengan teman-teman sebayanya atau kurang bergaul dengan seusianya sehingga si anak tidak dapat bersosialisasi dengan lingkungan luar dan mengakibatkan anak tersebut tidak memiliki wawasan yang luas dalam artian si anak menjadi kurang pergaulan. (3) Alasan orang tua untuk menepuhkan pendidikan anaknya adalah : (a) Seringnya orang tua berpindah tempat yang disebabkan oleh urusan pekerjaan atau bisnis dan memaksa semua anggota keluarga untuk ikut.
