Kajian ini secara fokus akan mengkaji tentang sejarah awal dan perkembangan hingga saat sekarang ini, sebab sebagai sebuah institusi spiritual TNKB merupakan tempat yang tidak pernah sepi dikunjungi oleh para jamaah dan para peziarah dalam perbagai daerah, khusus kawasan Asia Tenggara. Unsur lain yang menjadi fokus pengkajian ini akan melihat dinamika politik yang terjadi di dalam TNKB, sebab—dalam perkembangannya—konflik internal terjadi dalam TNKB yang mengakibatkan dualisme kepemimpinan, tetapi sampai saat ini dapat berjalan keduanya secara baik.
