Dalam proses pembuatan Handuk diken

Dalam proses pembuatan Handuk dikenal sebuah alat/mesin yang berguna sebagai penenun benang. Hampir sebagian besar bahkan seluruh pabrik menggunakan Mesin yang biasa disebut Mesin Jaquard. Mesin ini ditemukan oleh Josep Marie Jacquard sekitar tahun 1793 di Prancis. Mesin ini sdendiri merupakan mesin tenun yang dilengkapi lembaran kartu-kartu berlubang atau dikenal dengan istilah Punch Card yang berfungsi untuk mengontrol helai demi helai benang.

Adapun kinerja dari mesin ini adalah sebagai berikut :

Bagian kartu yang berlubang berfungsi mengangkat benang seperti yang kita lihat pada permukaan Handuk.
Bagian kartu yang tidak berlubang secara mekanik tidak mengangkat benang.
Kinerja dari punch card ini sangat dominan sehingga bisa membentuk corak/motif yang diinginkan.
Dalam perjalanannya Mesin Jacquard ini mengalami perkembangan sehingga terbagi dalam dua macam mesin yaitu :

Mesin Jacquard bersifat Konvensional yang menggunakan kartu-kartu berlubang (Punch card).
Mesin Jacquard bersifat Electronic/Otomatis yang dimana Punch card diganti dengan code-code yang disetting oleh computer, sehingga sangat memudahkan kinerja dari mesin itu sendiri dalam memodifikasi motif Handuk, mulai dari gambar, corak, warna serta ukuran dari Handuk.
