ABSTRAK
Pendidikan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan esensial yang sangat penting bagi manusia, sebab pendidikan dapat berlangsung seumur hidup (Long Live of Education). Dalam konteks pendidikan, dikatakan bahwa mendidik adalah upaya mengajar siswa secara perlahan-lahan di atas kaki sendiri, di mana hal ini dilakukan sambil berbuat. Sebagai suatu proses belajar mengajar terjadi transformasi, ranah kognitif, ranah afektif serta ranah psikomotorik yang belum pernah si belajar ketahui sebelumnya. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, berarti sekolah harus menyediakan ruang perpustakaan beserta isinya. Perpustakaan yang reprensentatif demi kepentingan anak didik adalah pengelolaan yang ideal, sehingga siswa secara optimal dapat memanfaatkannya untuk kepentingan belajarnya. Dengan demikan perpustakaan yang baik adalah perpustakaan yang dapat berfungsi pendidikan, penelitian, inspirasi dan berfungsi rekreatif, serta terkait erat dengan tujuan pendidikan dimana perpustakaan yang representative dapat membantu anak didik untuk memperoleh keterangan atau informasi secara lebih luas dan terperinci tentang pelajarannya di dalam kelas, dapat membantu perkembangan daya nalar siswa dan peningkatan daya kritis serta daya kreasinya.
