HP merupakan trend yang seolah tidak dapat ditinggalkan dari para remaja saat ini. Semua remaja dipastikan memiliki hp dari merek terkenal hingga hp buatan cina. Berbagai cara remaja memanfaatkan HP, ada yang digunakan untuk semata-mata komunikasi, hiburan, bahkan ada pula yang digunakan untuk tindakan negatif. Dengan berbagai masalah yang timbul di sekolah mulai SMSan saat pelajaran hingga menyimpan video atau gambar porno rentan dilakukan oleh siswa di sekolah sehingga tak sedikit sekolah yang melarang membawa HP saat masuk sekolah. Dengan kebijakan tersebut ada yang Pro dan kontra dengan berbagai asumsi.
Bagi yang kontra dengan kebijakan ini kebijakan tersebut dianggap sebagai pemabatasan dalam hal berkomunikasi yang merupakan hak setiap bangsa yang tercantum dalam pancasila yaitu keadilan sosial bagi seluruh rakyat Indonesia. Ada pula yang beranggapan hal ini merupakan dengan keputusan itu siswa tidak mendapatkan hiburan saat di sekolah karena biasa menggunakan HP sebagai sarana hiburan serta masih banyak lagi asumsi. Bagi yang pro kebijakan tersebut akan menimbulkan dampak positif karena siswa akan lebih berkonsentrasi dan juga lebih bisa terkontrol. Karena tak sedikit pula siswa yang memanfaatkan HP untuk kegiatan yang negatif.
Setiap kebijakan ada pro dan kontra merupakan hal yang biasa, namun yang perlu dipahami bersama adalah setiap sendi kehidupan pastilah menginginkan hal yang terbaik. Setiap keputusan pastilah sudah dipertimbangkan antara keuntungan dan kerugian. Jika keuntungannya lebih banyak dari kerugiannya berarti keputusan tersebut layak untuk dijalankan dengan sebaik-baiknya.
