Bulan lalu, Samsung dilaporkan akan bekerja pada versi 'Pro' nya smartphone Galaxy A9. Firmware dari handset dengan codename SM-A9100 dikatakan sebagai smartphon kelas atas. Sesuai hasil benchmark, Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro akan menjalankan Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. Dengan fitur 5,5-inci full-HD (1080x1920 piksel) layar resolusi dan bungkus octa-core Qualcomm CPU clock 1.8GHz, dilengkapi dengan 4GB RAM dan Adreno 510. Smartphone ini terlihat lebih baik dengan kapasitas memori 32GB, lebih dari yang 25GB pada smartphone sebelumnya.

Pada kamera belakang, Galaxy A9 Pro memiliki 15-megapixel autofocus kamera belakang dengan deteksi wajah, fokus sentuh dan LED flash, selain itu kamera depan memiliki 8-megapixel.
