Introduction: Diabetic foot ulcers are chronic ulcers that are often resistant to a wide range of current treatment, wound healing and ischemic diabetic foot ulcers tend to have steeper chronic nature and the risk of infection that can damage the tissue away. The purpose of this literature review is to find a method or technique of diabetic foot ulcer wound care that is effective and efficient. So as to accelerate the wound healing process, improve the patient's self-confidence (self esteem), reducing the length of treatment, and reduce the cost of treatment.
Method: english articles Search the database Medline, ProQuest, and PubMed, and is restricted from 1980 to 2013. Through keywords on topic and found 12 journals, but in accordance with the inclusion criteria only 11 journals.
Result: the treatment of diabetic foot wounds using peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), retrograde venous infusion method perfusion (RVP ), therapy using penitoin powder and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Therapeutic uses penitoin powder is the most effective method and has great clinical utility with the results of diabetic ulcers wound completely closed.
Analyse: method of diabetic foot ulcer wound treatment using powder penitoin more effective and showed recovery in a short time and can be applied in Indonesia today .
disscussion: peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) were able to stimulate fibroblasts and endothelial cells, which in turn encourage neovascularization and proliferation of fibroblasts.
