Supratno lahir di makasar, 3 Juli 1957. Orang tuanya bernama paidi dan rubinem.Dia adalah anak ke 5 dari 5 bersaudara. Karena ayahnya seorang tentara maka tempat tinggalnya kadang berpindah-pindah, saat ia pertama kali masuk sekolah ia bersekolah di SD Bokoharjo saat duduk di bangku SD supratno selalu mendapatkan peringkat 3 besar. Pada saat SMP ia melanjutkan sekolahnya di SMP N 1 Berbah, sejak saat itu ayahnya pun mulai di tugaskan di wilayah Kalimantan selama 2 tahun sedangkan ibunya juga ikut dengan ayahnya, akhirnya supratno pun tinggal di rumah hanya bersama ke 4 kakaknya. Setelah beberapa bulan ia tinggal di rumah tanpa ada pengawasan dari orang tua akhirnya pun supratno sempat menjadi remaja yang nakal. Tapi untungnya hal itu tidak berlangsung lama karena kakaknya selalu menasehati. Saat supratno masuk ke kelas 3 tugas ayahnya pun telah selesai dari tugasnya  dan pulang. Setelah ayahnya pulang supratno pun mulai giat belajar lagi dan akhirnya ia mendapat nilai ujian yang cukup bagus. Setelah itu ia melanjutkan di SMK N 1 Yogyakarta di jurusan listrik tetapi saat itu ia mulai tidak serius dengan sekolahnya, karena itu hasil paksaan dari orang tuanaya. Hasilnya supratno lulus dengan nilai yang pas pasan. Tetapi setelah ia lulus dari sekolahnya ia langsung merantau ke sumatra dan membeli beberapa lahan tanah di sana. Tetapi setelah beberapa bulan di sana ia belum mendapatkan hasil akhirnya ia pulang ke jawa lagi, setelah di jawa ia menjadi pengagguran selama kurang lebih 5 tahun akhirnya supratno menikah dengan yatini dan di anugrahi 2 anak laki laki. Saat itu supratno mulai menggeluti usaha yang telah di rencanakan yaitu menjadi pengusaha kelapa sawit. Setelah beberapa tahun menunggu hasilnya akhirnya impiannya bisa terwujud, sekarang ini dia pun sudah bisa membuat rumah dan membeli lahan lagi sampai sekarang kira kira lahannya sebesar 15 hektar
