Tentunya Jepang juga tidak mau kalah dalam hal bukti bukti kepemilikan kepulauan Senkaku. Adanya surat resmi pada tanggal 20 Mei 1921, yang dikirimkan oleh konsul China bernama Feng Mien di Nagasaki yang di tujukan kepada pemerintahan Jepang, menyatakan bahwa pemerintah China mengakui kepulauan Senkaku sebagai bagian dari Jepang. Bukti lain juga telah ditemukan yaitu adanya buku geografi terbitan pemerintah Taiwan yang mengakui bahwa kepulauan Senkaku ialah milik Jepang.
Sampai mantan Presiden Republic of China, Lee Teng-hui, dikutip koran Taipei Times pada tanggal 6 September 2009, mengatakan bahwa Senkaku merupakan bagian dari Okinawa.
