Alih-alih berakhir ceria dan bahagia, pesta ulang tahun itu malah berakhir dengan kematian tragis. Sandy alias Gepeng (28) tewas seketika lantaran tersetrum aliran listrik saat dikerjai temannya dengan cara diikat dan disiram di tiang lampu lapangan basket Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD), Kecamatan Serpong, Kota Tangerang, Senin (26/9/2016) dinihari.
Kejadian bermula saat korban yang berulang tahun tepat pukul 00.04 WIB, diikat oleh teman-temannya di sebuah tiang lampu basket. Tanpa disadari, tiang tersebut dialiri listrik.
Teman-teman korban tidak menyadari hal itu. Selain mengikat tubuh Sandy, mereka juga menyiramnya dengan air. Sontak ini membuat korban kejang-kejang karena tersengat arus listrik.
Menyadari hal tersebut, teman-teman korban langsung meminta tolong ke petugas yang ada di lapangan futsal dan basket itu untuk menurunkan tiang tersebut, dan membantu melepaskan ikatan. Kemudian, korban langsung dilarikan ke Eka Hospital.
"Namun sayang, nyawa korban tidak tertolong. Padahal sempat mendapat pertolongan di UGD," kata Kasubbag Humas Polres Tangsel AKP Mansuri.
Kabel Listrik Terkelupas
Ternyata setelah diselidiki, pada tiang lampu lapangan itu ada kabel listrik yang terkelupas. Namun, hal tersebut tidak disadari teman-teman korban.
Mansuri menambahkan, polisi hingga kini masih memintai keterangan sejumlah saksi di lokasi, termasuk mendalami adanya unsur kelalaian dalam perayaan ulang tahun korban.
"Saya mengimbau kepada masyarakat agar tidak merayakan ulang tahun secara berlebihan, agar tidak menimbulkan hal-hal yang tidak diinginkan," ujar Mansuri.
