IN SHORT SENTENCES”.

Bahasa adalah salah satu anugerah dari tuhan yang di peroleh manusia untuk dapat berinteraksi satu sama lain, bersilaturahmi, menjalin persaudaraan dan untuk kepentingan lainya selama hidup di dunia. Jaman terus berkembang, begitu juga bahasa. Ada berbagai bahasa yang kini sudah masuk ke Indonesia dan menjadi mata pelajaran pokok di setiap sekolah di indonesia. Contohnya bahasa ingris, bahasa jerman, bahasa prancis, bahasa jepang, bahasa korea dan lain-lain. Namun diantara bahasa tersebut bahasa Inggris yang menjadi bahasa utama yang wajib untuk di pelajari di era ini. Karena bahasa Inggris sudah di sepakati sebagai bahasa persatuan dunia. Jadi dengan bisa berbahasa Inggris kita bisa berkomunikasi dengan orang luar negeri meskipun ia bukan orang dari Inggris.
Bahasa inggris dan bahasa Indonesia tidaklah jauh berbeda. Didalam bahasa Indonesia tentu kita pernah belajar tentang cerpen, puisi, pantun, majas-majas, alur cerita, novel, kata penghubung, kata imbuhan dan lain-lain. Begitu juga dalam bahasa Inggris. bahasa Inggris juga mempelajari tentang majas-majas, novel, cerpen, puisi, pantun, imbuhan dan kata penghubung dalam kalimat. Semua orang pasti pernah menggunakan kata-kata penghubung ketika menulis ataupun berbicara. Sangatlah mudah untuk kita menggunakan kata penghubung kedalam kalimat ketika berbicara dengan bahasa Indonesia. Bahkan setiap kegiatan sehari-hari kita biasa menggunakan kata penghubung untuk berkomunikasi. Contoh pengunaan kata penghubung dalam bahasa indonesia: “ kemarin aku, ayah dan ibu pergi kerumah nenek tetapi tiba-tiba kakak ku tidak bisa ikut karena ia harus pergi dengan temannya”. Dari kalimat diatas terdapat tiga kata penghubung, yaitu “dan”, “tetapi”, dan “karena” jika kata penghubung tersebut di hilangkan kemudian kita susun kembali dengan menggunakan kata penghubung yang sudah tersedia tentunya sangat mudah untuk memilih kata penghubung yang cocok jika kalimat itu adalah kalimat bahasa indonesia. Bagaimana jika mencocokkan kata penghubung dengan kalimat di dalam bahasa inggris ? apakah semudah mencocokkan kata penghubung ke dalam bahasa indonesia ?
Dalam mencocokkan kata penghubung dalam bahasa inggris tidaklah susah hanya saja butuh ketelitian dalam memahami kalimat sebelum meletakkan kata penghubung tersebut dan juga harus bisa membedakan dan memilih kata penghubung sesuai dengan makna kalimatnya. Berdasarkan pengalaman saya sebagai guru PPL di salah satu sekolah SMP saya menemukan masih banyak sekali siswa-siswa yang salah dan bingung ketika mencocokkan kata penghubung dalam kalimat bahasa inggris terutama dalam meletakkan kata penghubung “And”, “But”. Mereka cenderung mengartikan kalimat dengan kata penghubung “and” dan “but” dengan makna yang sama padahal tentu saja berbeda. Kata penghubung “and” termasuk dalam subordinating conjunctions dan di bagi lagi kedalam bagian cumulative conjunctions. Cumulative conjunctions adalah kelompok kata penghubung yang menunjukkan adanya tambahan informasi tentang subjeknya. Sementara kata penghubung “but” termasuk pada adversative conjunctions. Adversative conjunction adalah kelompok kata penghubung yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang contras antara bagian satu dengan yang lainya.
Contoh : - He had to get up early but, he slept again. ( using “but”)
- He ate chicken soup and babat soup. ( using “and”)
Berdasarkan penjelasan diatas penulis tertarik untuk membuat judul sebagai berikut :
“THE STUDENTS’ ERRORS ON USING CONJNCTION “AND” and “BUT”
IN SHORT SENTENCES”. Judul ini penulis buat berdasarkan masalah yang terjadi selama proses pembelajaran conjunction.

Similarly, in the United Kingdom. United Kingdom language is also learning about Majo-poetic figures, novels, short stories, poetry, and affix the pantun, a liaison in a sentence. All people would never use the words link when writing or speaking. It's easy for us to use the connecting words into sentences when talking with Indonesia. Even our daily ordinary activities each use kata liaison to communicate. An example of usage of the word link in English: "yesterday I was, MOM and dad go home Grandma but suddenly my sister couldn't come because he had to go with his friend". From the above there are three sentence connective Word, i.e. "and", "but", and "because" If the link in the word hide then we arrange the return using the available link is very easy to pick a suitable liaison said if that sentence is a sentence in English.
