Bahasa Arab di Indonesia yang mayoritas penduduknya muslim mempunyai kedudukan lebih tinggi dibanding dengan bahasa-bahasa asing lainnya. Sebagaimana kita ketahui bahwa bahasa Al Qur'an, al Hadits, mayoritas kitab turost, kitab modern dan bacaan sholat, serta do'a-do'a dalam agama islam menggunakan bahasa Arab. Oleh karena itu peran bahasa Arab dalam pemahaman keislaman secara jeneral menjadi sebuah kebutuhan dan kewajiban bagi umat islam
